Assisting Silvermine Students for 60 Years!
The Silvermine Community Association has been awarding scholarships to community residents for 60 years. More than 300 high-school seniors have been helped on their way to higher education through this unique neighborhood program.
In past years, the individual scholarship awards have ranged from $250 to $3,000. Each year, based on the number of applicants and their qualifications, the number of scholarship recipients varies. Generally there are between three and six recipients.
To be eligible for the SCA Scholarship:
The applicant must be a recent graduate from high school/technical/post graduate school, or anticipate graduating in the spring of the scholarship year
The applicant must have been accepted (or anticipate receiving acceptance) by an accredited college or post-secondary school/conservatory (art, music, or technical).
The applicant MUST reside in the Silvermine Area of New Canaan, Norwalk, or Wilton (as defined by the map/street list in the application). (If you receive this newsletter, anyone who lives with you and meets the above criteria is eligible to apply for the SCA Scholarship.)
Applications will be available on this web-site later in the school year and will also be available in the New Canaan, Norwalk and Wilton High School guidance offices. Completed applications with supporting documentation must be submitted by no later than April 18th each year.
