Explore Silvermine
Take a walk, Silvermine! You are invited to participate in a community walk through scenic Silvermine this October. Walking is one of the easiest and most accessible forms of exercise. It offers a wide range of health benefits, encourages weight loss, requires minimal joint stress, and can be done by all ages. The Norwalk Health Department, in conjunction with the Healthy for Life Project, recently redesigned their popular NorWALKer Route walking maps, and would like to share Silvermine’s new walking map with its residents.
Meet at Silvermine School
Please join Mayor Harry Rilling, Lucia Rilling, the Norwalk Health Department, and the Riverbrook YMCA for a 2.5 mile walk through Silvermine on Saturday, October 22 at 8:00am. Please meet your fellow walkers at the Silvermine Elementary School parking lot (157 Perry Ave) by 8:00am. No sign-up is required. After the walk, participants are invited to the Silvermine Market for coffee (not provided) and conversation about how to sustain a community walking program in the Silvermine area.
