CT Department of
Transportation
State Project No. 102-269
Interchange Improvements Route 15 and Route 7 / Route 15 and
Main Ave
The project consists of the construction of a full-directional interchange between U.S. Route 7 and Route 15 (Merritt Parkway), while maintaining access for Main Avenue to and from Route 15.
Status
The Department has been working on an extensive alternatives analysis including a re-evaluation of original alternatives that were studied in the 1990s and the development and evaluation of several new alternatives, including several proposed by the Merritt Parkway Conservatory
(MPC). Through an evaluation of the pros and cons of each alternative, the list was narrowed to two alternates. The elimination of certain alternatives from further consideration was due to weighing factors, such as traffic operations, safety, direct or indirect harm to the Merritt Parkway, environmental impacts and cost. At this time the Department would like to put these two alternates forward for public comment.
