Clean Energy for Silvermine
Connecticut Clean Energy Campaign Options

The SCA would like to inform Silvermine residents of the options available to them as individuals and to their municipalities by participating in the CT Clean Energy Communities Program. The CT Clean Energy Communities Program is a partnership between the CT Clean Energy Fund, Smart Power and participants in the CT Clean Energy Options Program. Its purpose is to assist communities and their residents in the purchase and support of clean energy.

This program provides our towns with free clean energy systems (solar photovoltaic panels). Very simply put: For every 100 Wilton, Norwalk or New Canaan residents or businesses that sign up for the CT Clean Energy Options Program offered by CL&P and UI, the town would receive, free of charge for both the units and installation, a $20,000 2kw solar energy system to be placed on any building of the town’s choosing. The town must also pass a resolution commiting to the 20% by 2010 Clean Energy Campaign led by Smart Power, which means they would commit to getting 20% of their electricity from clean, renewable sources, like wind, solar, hydro, by the year 2010. Residents can sign up immediately for clean renewable energy in the following ways:

Depending on the option you choose, either 50% or100% renewable resources, you will pay an additional $3.85 TO $8 per month, based on a usage of 700 kw hours. For more info go to: www.ctinnovations.com and www.smartpower.com
